LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears and Kevin Federline finalized their child-custody settlement Friday, including a $5,000-per-month increase in child support for the pop singer’s ex-husband.
An attorney for Federline delivered the terms of two separate agreements to Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon, who gave his approval late Friday afternoon.
The settlement ends a months-long saga between Spears and Federline over custody issues, attorneys fees and the singer’s public meltdown earlier this year. It may not, however, be the final word on the pair’s custody arrangements.
The couple’s children are young: Sean Preston is 2 years old and Jayden James is 1. As the boys grow older, and Spears and Federline’s lives evolve, so too might their custody arrangements.
“Everyone has a right to change it at some point,” Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan said Friday.
For now, Spears’ payments to Federline will increase from $15,000 to $20,000 per month, retroactive to July 15. Spears will also pay Federline’s attorneys, Kaplan and James Simon, a single payment of $250,000.
Last week, the parties said they had also come to terms on custody arrangements, granting the 26-year-old pop singer more time with her children, including additional overnight visits. The exact terms of that agreement were sealed by the court.
Spears’ father, James, currently controls his daughter’s financial and personal affairs as a court-appointed conservator. He signed off on the agreement on Spears’ behalf.
A hearing on the conservatorship is scheduled for Thursday.

Britney Spears below, was awarded extended visits with her sons after a child custody hearing in Los Angeles Superior County Court on Tuesday, The Associated Press reported. Mark Vincent Kaplan, a lawyer for Kevin Federline, her former husband, said the extended visits with the children, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, were “recognition of the progress that has been made, a progress of structure and stability.” Mr. Federline has had full custody of the children since January, when the police were summoned to Ms. Spears’s home, and she was taken by ambulance to a medical center after refusing to surrender the boys to Mr. Federline’s bodyguard. In a statement read by a court spokesman, Ms. Spears’s parents said, “We are so pleased with Britney’s progress and we are very appreciative of the court’s recognition of this progress.” A report on the new arrangement was scheduled for July 15.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Jason Castro, the mellow singer whose dreadlocked good looks earned the devotion of countless teenage girls, was voted off “American Idol” on Wednesday, leaving three finalists to compete for the show’s top prize.
The departure of Castro, 20, whittled the competition on the top-rated TV talent show down to scruffy alternative rocker David Cook, baby-faced crooner David Archuleta and last-girl-standing Syesha Mercado.
Castro had been advised to pack his suitcase by no-nonsense “Idol” judge Simon Cowell on Tuesday after bungling the lyrics to Bob Dylan’s 1965 classic “Mr Tambourine Man” and showed little surprise as he was given the hook.
He smiled broadly and clapped as host Ryan Seacrest broke the news and laughed during his final performance, a version of Bob Marley’s “I Shot the Sheriff.”
The Texas-born Castro, who collected the fewest votes from viewers, was booted in the final minutes of the show after performances by pop rockers Maroon 5 and season four finalist Bo Bice.
He attributed his downfall to his inexperience, telling Seacrest that he had tried to pick songs he was familiar with but “even then I screwed it up.”
Seacrest said nearly 51 million votes were cast on the show this week, a season high.
“American Idol” pits singers from across the country against one another in a months-long competition. Past winners such as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have gone on to music stardom.

Star Wars: Clone Wars is an American animated television series set in the Star Wars galaxy. The series chronicles the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic under Chancellor Palpatine, and the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS) under Count Dooku.
Chronologically, the series takes place during the three-year time period between the films Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The original television series was produced by Cartoon Network Studios, and aired in 25 chapters from 2003 to 2005. A 3D CGI series called Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be set in the same time period, will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation and debut in 2008.[1]
Summary
The original series consists of 20 three-minute installments for Seasons 1 and 2 (later known as Volume 1), and five 12-to-15 minute installments for Season 3 (later called Volume 2). The 25 episodes are mostly comprised of energetic set-piece battles. Since much emphasis is placed on action, the story and plot is less developed than in the films. Despite this, it can be argued that the third season focused more on Anakin Skywalker’s story.
The series follows the Jedi on their exploits fighting Dooku’s separatist confederation. Many characters from the films are also featured prominently in the series, such as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Mace Windu, Chancellor Palpatine, Count Dooku, General Grievous, C-3PO, R2-D2 and Padmé Amidala. Other episodes feature minor players from the films, such as Kit Fisto, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Shaak Ti and Aayla Secura.
Seasons
Season One and Two/DVD Volume One - These two seasons feature one major storyline surrounded by a series of many battles. Count Dooku holds auditions for a bounty hunter on the planet Rattatak by pitting them against each other in a battle arena. Asajj kills every one of the bounty hunters and is sent on a mission to assassinate Anakin Skywalker. She engages him in a space battle, through the streets of Muunilinst and eventually leading him into Yavin 4, where the two engage in a lightsaber duel. Anakin emerges the victor, despite it being through means of rage and fear (feelings of a Dark Jedi).
Apart from the main storyline many battles ensue, including Mace Windu’s fight on Dantooine, Obi-Wan fighting against bounty hunter Durge and the Banking Clan, Kit Fisto’s battle against the Quarren on Mon Calamari, the adventures on Ilum and the Battle of Hypori in which General Grevious makes his first appearance in Star Wars media.
Season Three/DVD Volume Two - The third and last season of Star Wars: Clone Wars gives the audience a look at Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker’s adventures in the Outer-Rim Territories as mentioned in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Anakin is made a Jedi Knight and Coruscant comes under attack by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, as a diversion for General Grevious to sneak in and capture Chancellor Palpatine.

Lara Flynn Boyle (born March 24, 1970 in Davenport, Iowa) is an American actress who was raised in Chicago, Illinois and Wisconsin. Although she is of mostly Irish descent, Boyle also has an Italian-American great-grandfather. [1] She is named after a character in Boris Pasternak’s novel Dr.
Career
Boyle’s first film role was a bit part in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986), which earned her a SAG card, though her scene was eliminated from the final cut of the film. She then appeared in the mini-series Amerika (1987) and films Poltergeist III (1988) and Dead Poets Society (1989), before landing her first major part, that of Donna Hayward in the critically acclaimed series Twin Peaks. When the series ended in 1991, creator David Lynch produced a movie, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, but - largely due to her rise in fame and increased film offers - Boyle chose not to return. Moira Kelly took over the role of Donna for the film.
Boyle spent much of the 1990s making a name for herself in films with varying degrees of success. Some of her most notable roles during that time were:
the obsessive and accident-prone Stacy in Wayne’s World (1992)
the fragile, homeless teen Heather in Where The Day Takes You (1992)
psycho secretary-from-hell Kris Bolin in what was geared to be her breakout success, but ultimately became a box-office bust, The Temp (1993)
the sultry and manipulative Suzanne of Red Rock West (1993), which solidified her status as a premier femme fatale
Alex, the sexually assured drama queen in the Generation X comedy Threesome (1994)
flighty, manically repressed housewife Marianne Byron in Afterglow (1997)
In 1997, Boyle auditioned for the title role in David E. Kelley’s Ally McBeal. Although she lost out to Calista Flockhart, the actress impressed Kelley enough to create the role of Assistant District Attorney Helen Gamble in his other 1997 series, The Practice, specifically for her. She starred on that show until 2003, when - in a dramatic attempt to revamp the show and cut costs - she was unceremoniously dismissed along with most of the cast. The role of Helen earned her an Emmy nomination, as well as several Screen Actors Guild ensemble cast nominations. Boyle also made a crossover appearance in the role of Helen in an episode of Ally McBeal.
In 2002, Boyle played a lead role in the blockbuster film Men in Black II as the villainous alien Serleena. She also guest-starred on one of the last episodes of Ally McBeal, this time as Tally Cupp, a completely different role from that which she had played before.
Recently, she had a recurring role on several episodes of Huff, playing Melody Coatar, an unstable patient with borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder.
In 2005, Boyle joined the cast of Las Vegas for a seven-episode stint as Monica, a new hotel owner.
She played Barbara Amiel in the TV true story “Shades of Black”, about Amiel’s controversial husband, Lord Conrad Black.
Boyle guest-starred as an ambitious reporter involved with the suspects in a possible murder in the Law & Order 2008 episode “Submission”.
Personal life
Boyle has dated actors Jack Nicholson, Richard Dean Anderson, Kyle MacLachlan, David Spade, and Eric Dane. She has a tattoo on her back from then-boyfriend Jay Penske. She is dyslexic[2].
She has been married twice. Her first husband was John Patrick Dee III, whom she married on August 11, 1996 and divorced two years later. Her current husband is Donald Ray Thomas II, a real-estate investor, whom she married on December 18, 2006 in San Antonio, Texas.
Boyle’s home in Beverly Hills was built in the 1920s as servants’ quarters for Pickfair, the home of actress Mary Pickford.[3]
Went to Catholic school in East Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A bronchial infection forced Faith Hill to withdraw from a MusiCares tribute to Aretha Franklin. “I am devastated and deeply disappointed,” the 40-year-old country singer said in a statement late Thursday.
“I have been looking forward to being part of this event for months, and even after being diagnosed with a bronchial infection I came to L.A. anyway hoping that I’d be able to sing. I simply can’t.”
Hill was to join Fantasia, John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Shirley Caesar, the Blues Brothers, Bill Cosby and others Friday in honoring Franklin as the 2008 MusiCares Person of the Year. The show was be taped for broadcast on PBS.
MusiCares is a Recording Academy charity that supports the arts community and music education programs.
Franklin, 65, is up for her 18th Grammy Award on Sunday, nominated for best gospel performance for a duet with Mary J. Blige. The Grammys will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS.
“Aretha is a musical hero and she deserves all of the accolades that she receives,” Hill said. “I only hope that I’ll get the chance to be a part of something like this in the future.”

Winter is a fantastic time of year to take a romantic getaway. See some snow and get away from the crowds at some of these popular destinations.
The Smoky Mountains
Sevierville’s Winterfest is going on until February 29, where you can see thousands of lights. This is a good time of year for affordable cabin rentals with a mountain view. Many of the attractions are open during this slow season. Wonderworks, the upside down house, is a fun, educational experience for all ages. I had to drag my kids out of there when we last visited. Rainforest Adventures is also open. Don’t forget to visit the Smoky Mountains, which always has FREE admission. www.visitsevierville.com
Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone has some fantastic packages available, including winter wildlife expeditions, snowmobile tours, and so much more. Ski tours are available. The Winter Wolf Discovery is magical.
